RoboDJ

RoboDJ is background music automation (storecasting) for restaurants, bars, and retail stores. Automatically builds playlists for different times of day and days of the week, and inserts special announcements automatically.  TIME & CLUNKERS: The two big problems of playing background music are that you have to spend lots of time creating fresh playlists every few days, or if you use random shuffle play you run the risk of playing a bunch of ?clunkers?. RoboDJ eliminates both those problems!

Load your computer with thousands of songs from your own collection and from your staff; RoboDJ determines the kind of music, its popularity, and the frequency it should play. Eliminates clunkers from your playlist! Crossfades music to create a seamless music environment. Uses MP3, Windows WMA, and Apple iTunes music files. Just load your computer with songs, install RoboDJ, and in 10 minutes or so, RoboDJ sets up a music environment for you! And you can customize it as much or as little as you need.

RETAIL: automatically insert special announcements about sales you?re offering, such as ?red light specials?, store closing, holiday hours, etc. Like the satellite music networks in drugstores and supermarkets, RoboDJ is designed to maximize your branding! Custom announcements are available by professional voice announcers, or create your own with any MP3, WMA, or M4A recorder that can process meta-tags.

FOOD & BEVERAGE: RoboDJ can set an upbeat mood for lunch, a mellow jazz mood for happy hour, put in a special announcement about happy hour specials, play more upbeat music again for evening, announce last call for alcohol, and announce closing. And you can play country music on Sunday afternoons!

Eight professionally-produced sample announcements are included with RoboDJ that you can use right away!

Studies show you can increase your customer satisfaction and potentially increase sales by 15% just by using a carefully managed background music system.

RoboDJ was first introduced to a limited market in 1999, with Version 0.5. Version 1.0 was introduced in 2001, and the new Version 2.0 is a totally revamped version based on user ideas and experience.

RUNS ON ANYTHING! RoboDJ uses just 500MB of RAM and a Pentium 3 CPU, so it?s suitable for any Windows computer made in the last 13 years, such as the Dell sitting in the corner of your office that is too slow to run spreadsheets or QuickBooks. After its initial database scan, RoboDJ uses just 20% CPU time.

RoboDJ runs on Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Vista, and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit platforms). Any stereo or mono sound device is okay. Video screen should be at least 1024 by 768.

LOAD IT UP! We recommend you use 1000 to 5000 songs to provide a large enough play rotation to keep the music fresh. When you load your music collection with that of your staff you?ll find that you?ll easily reach 5000 songs. RoboDJ is being used successfully with 40,000 songs, with no slowdown in performance regardless of how many songs are used. Don?t worry about duplicates; RoboDJ plays only one copy of a given song within a time window.

When first installed, RoboDJ scans your computer and all its local and network drives and matches song tags to its database to find out what kind of music you have. RoboDJ is forgiving of misspelled tags, so that ?Areatha Frankin? is equal to ?Aretha Franklin?, and it knows the hits. It ignores wrong genre information, and many other inaccuracies, and it refuses to play Christmas songs that have sneaked into your collection unless you specifically tell it to add holiday songs.

DJIQ is a new feature of RoboDJ. If you want to be creative, turn on DJIQ and it will intelligently match up songs the way a DJ would, using artist, composer, year, and other tags to create music sweeps. And, like everything else in RoboDJ, you control how much DJIQ to use, or none at all.
